The Bronze Teeth and Iron Tongue of Ji Xiaolan, Part Five

The fifth installment of The Bronze Teeth and Iron Mouths of Ji Xiaolan was never made. I've imagined my own fifth installment here, partly to make up for the fact that this TV series never got one.

Story:

The story is set in the middle to late Qianlong era. The Qing Dynasty is prosperous, yet corruption remains rife among officials and ordinary people continue to suffer. The battle of wits between Ji Xiaolan (played by Zhang Guoli) and Heshen (played by Wang Gang) remains at the heart of the story. This time, however, the plot revolves around a major case involving a royal secret, a popular uprising, and an international conspiracy.
