After Lin Daiyu died of tears in Jia Mansion, her soul traveled to the world of Journey to the West. When she woke up in a barren mountain, she was besieged by wild wolves. Fortunately, she was rescued by Sun Wukong and joined the journey westward of Tang Monk and his disciples.
On their way westward, they experienced many hardships. Natural dangers such as the scorching heat of the Flame Mountain not only provide twists and turns through banana fans, but also add mysterious clues to the search for Suzaku's Tears; when the black water froze, Lin Daiyu fell into the water and was rescued, which also implicated the secret origin of the black water demon and the ancient tribe. There are also endless catastrophes caused by demons and monsters. In "Three Plays of the Corpse Demon", Lin Daiyu anxiously mediates the conflict between Tang Monk and Sun Wukong; in "Pipa Poison Scheme", she relies on her mastery of music to help Sun Wukong defeat the pipa spirit. In addition, there are also tests of inner demons, such as her struggle between the past and her mission when she is homesick and confused, and finally strengthens her belief in moving forward; in terms of human relations, Che Chiguo rescues the monk and Tongtianhe punishes the monsters, showing her kindness and wisdom.
Lin Daiyu continued to grow through the hardships along the way, from being weak and sensitive to becoming strong and intelligent. After arriving at Lingshan, she was named "Fairy Wenhui" by Tathagata Buddha because of her sincerity and hardship. Returning to the Eastern Tang Dynasty, she gave lectures in Chang'an, deeply integrated Buddhism with Tang culture, organized poetry conferences, guided the creation of works on the theme of Journey to the West, and promoted cultural exchanges. After that, she recruited many disciples, wrote books and theories, and wrote "Records of Enlightenment on the Journey to the West", "Collection of Poems of Huixin", and "On the Integration of Buddhism and Tang Culture"
