The Heir Broke Off Our Engagement to Marry His Recently Widowed Cousin, So I Married a First-Rank General

Three days before I was to marry Xie Nanzhou, heir to the Marquis of Wu’an, his widowed cousin returned and fainted in front of his carriage.

Xie Nanzhou said he pitied her for being alone and helpless, and wanted to take her as his wife, granting her the status of the heir’s wife.

He said, “You’re the legitimate daughter of the prime minister. Even if you become a concubine without the status of a principal wife, no one would dare bully you. But Ruanruan is different. She has nothing, knows nothing, and has no one but me.”
