My Dad Pulled His Investment After My Wife Went Public with Her New Relationship

At the company annual dinner, my wife, the CEO, whom I'd been secretly married to for years, suddenly announced that she already had someone.

I immediately went onstage, thinking she was finally going to make our marriage public. But the next second, the man she had always loved slapped me.

"You got a few investments for the company and now think you're somebody? My wife is out of your league!"

I thought my wife would set the record straight, but instead she took her old flame's hand, accused me of a toad lusting after a swan, and kicked me off the company project.

Everyone assumed I was about to make a scene.

But I smiled, applauded them, and handed her old flame a share transfer agreement.

"You're both right to put me in my place. Consider these shares my wedding gift to you."

My wife smugly thought I was madly in love with her, and promised to promote me to vice president again once the company went public.

But she didn't know that it was my father who had invested in the company.

Once I walked away, not only would her company be unable to go public, it would also default on its projects, suffer a cash-flow crisis, and end up losing both its money and its people.
