Fu Wen, one of the Tunpu people, is descended from ancestors who came from She County in Anhui. While asleep, he transmigrates to the Ming dynasty and meets his distant ancestor, Fu Heng. He travels with the army all the way to Guizhou, facing countless hardships and overcoming one trial after another, until he finally puts down roots in what is now Anshun, Guizhou.
