Since We’re Born Calamities, This Princess Will Take the Throne

In the first year of the Jingrui era, strange signs appeared in the heavens and on earth when the empress of the Jing Dynasty went into labor. Five-colored clouds filled the sky, and birds called out in unison.

The Imperial Astrologer foretold that the child the empress was carrying would surely be a bringer of good fortune, destined to bless the Jing Dynasty with a hundred years of prosperity.

But the empress was carrying twins. The two princesses were born together, one blessed and one cursed. The blessed one would safeguard the Jing Dynasty's peace for a hundred years, while the cursed one would bring its century-old foundation to ruin. The princesses were twins, their fortunes bound together: when one prospered, so would the other, and when one suffered, so would the other. Therefore, neither could be killed.

The blessed princess must be treated well. The cursed one must be abandoned somewhere else, but kept alive and made to suffer.

Once the princesses came of age and their fortunes had stabilized, the Imperial Astrologer could perform a ritual to sever their connection, and the cursed one could then be killed.

She was an innocent child, yet because of a prophecy, she was thrown into the cold palace at birth. Later, she lost every member of her family.

The cursed one was destined to overturn the court. If that was her fate, then why not embrace it, overthrow the world, and crown herself emperor?
