This is a time-travel story about the idealist Xiao Zizhuo. She came to a different world similar to the early Han Dynasty, and relied on advanced technological knowledge to carry out agricultural reform and people's livelihood construction in the Ying Kingdom. Initially, she achieved remarkable results in Xiaonan Township, developing the local area to a technological level equivalent to that of the late Tang Dynasty. However, Emperor Yao Xinghao of Ying State secretly plotted to use her achievements as a bargaining chip in the power game and exploit her.
Under the pressure of feudal forces, Xiao Zizhuo realized that pure idealism could not fight against power. She led her followers to flee to Dingguan Island across the sea from Ying State, where she established a paradise. Later, she accumulated strength and successfully overthrew the Ying Kingdom and established a new "pingzhi" regime. However, the new regime could not escape the fate of power struggle, and new disputes arose between the former Lixiang County and Xiaonan Township forces. In the end, Xiao Zizhuo chose to take the system reward and live in seclusion on Ningxian Island with her adoptive mother Yin Nanfu and other close people, and lived a secluded life of immortality. Through a dual-line narrative, the story shows the dilemma and fate of idealism in feudal society.

The full text has a coherent plot and clear character descriptions, making it a good read. The early stage is the farming infrastructure part, and the interlude is relatively slow. It shows many of the essence of agriculture and industry in ancient China, and gradually foreshadows and portrays the main characters. Xiao Zizhuo's early idealistic characters are vividly displayed in this part. The characters each have their own characteristics and shortcomings, and it is not a brainless novel. In the middle period, she was oppressed and exploited by the feudal imperial power. Xiao Zizhuo turned to resistance. Although she experienced a failure in the fight, she summed up her experience and turned away from the economy, resources and talents, which laid a solid foundation for the victory of the fight in the later period. The story in the middle period was ups and downs, full of realist resistance, and Xiao Zizhuo was fully grown and ideally reshaped during this period. The later period depicts another new chapter of the inevitable failure of idealists under the feudal imperial power. The new feudal forces press on Xiao Zizhuo step by step.
