The Seventh Beat

The day Gu Yanchen received the World Philanthropy Award for the Wealthy,

I was told by a doctor that I would die because I couldn't afford to replace my artificial heart.

On TV, the host asked Gu Yanchen to call the person he regretted most.

I answered the phone and heard Gu Yanchen ask me:

“Did you ever regret leaving me for money back then?”

Looking at the enormous bill for replacing my artificial heart, I gave a soft laugh.

“Gu Yanchen, you have so much money. Could you lend me two hundred thousand?”

The call abruptly ended. Watching Gu Yanchen on TV, I heard him say coldly:

“I have no regrets anymore.”

He didn't know that when his heart was failing back then,

I had secretly given him my own heart.
