[Clear-headed and independent + devoted and single-minded]
“Zhou Zhen, what am I to you?”
“You’re my rose.”
The young man’s innocent, devoted gaze belonged only to the girl before him.
“Wang Ruru, how dare you show your face in front of me?”
“Wang Ruru, if you accept his advances, I’ll make sure I never see another sunrise.”
“Ruru, all you have to do is give in a little and say something sweet, and I’ll forgive you.”
“Ruru, if you don’t want to say it, just give me a hug. I’ll pave the rest of the way for you.”
When two people love each other so deeply, there’s no need for forgiveness. One embrace and a kiss that barely skims the surface are enough to bring back the love they once shared.
Zhou Zhen pushed open the bedroom door. The lighting was hazy and seductive, spilling over a bed scattered with petals, where the girl he had longed for day and night lay. He gently touched her cheek as if she were a precious treasure. Still asleep, she murmured twice, as though displeased that someone had disturbed her dreams.
“Ruru, who do you love most?”
“Zhou Zhen!”
“Do you know what the perfect gift Zhou Zhen could receive is?”
“Of course. It’s me!”
Some time later, the host asked the groom, “What is the bride to you?”
With tears in his eyes, the groom gazed at the girl facing him and said with heartfelt sincerity, “She is my rose, forever in bloom!”
