Beneath the bustling city lies the "Nine Nether Tower" System, which randomly selects humans to participate in a deadly game every 49 days.

Veteran soldier Lin Jin should have died in a car accident. His younger sister gave her life to save him, and he survived, living in a drunken stupor, consumed by regret and longing.

After passing out drunk at his sister's grave, he returns to the day of the accident and awakens the "Echoes of the Dead" ability. To bring Lin Miao, his sister who died in the crash, back to life, he chooses to enter the Nine Nether Tower's trials. At the edge of life and death time and again, Lin Jin discovers that his sister's death was no accident.
