Everyday Life in a Little Alley

In the early 1980s, in Jixiang Alley in Songpu Town, on the banks of the Songhua River, lived a group of ordinary people whose lives were full of everyday warmth.

Liu Shucheng and the Yang family, the He family, and the bachelor Sun Mufeng all shared intertwined lives filled with laughter and tears.

Liu Shucheng’s family had mixed feelings about moving after being assigned a new home, while Yang Ying was displeased by the arrival of her husband’s elder sister. He Xiu raised her child alone; life was hard, but she remained close to the Liu family.

Sun Mufeng and He Xiu’s feelings gradually deepened, and in the end, they married.

As time passed, the children grew up, too. Liu Chunhua was admitted to Northeast Agricultural University, where she met and fell in love with Zhuo Hongbo, who attended Harbin Engineering University. Liu Chunyang went to Harbin Institute of Technology and found love as well. Zhuo Hongya was admitted to Northeast Forestry University, and her relationship with Su Jincheng grew closer.

The people of Jixiang Alley lived ordinary yet heartwarming lives in their little corner of the world. Their stories were just like those of the people around us: true to life and moving, full of life’s joys and sorrows.
