In the vast river of stars, the wheels of time turn without rest. One day, an unprecedented energy storm sweeps across the universe. A mysterious surge of energy crosses endless expanses of time and space, awakening a being who has slept in the depths of chaos: Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong slowly awakens. He finds himself in the midst of chaos. Sometimes he dreams of the peach groves on Flower-Fruit Mountain, the waterfall of the Water Curtain Cave, and the monkeys who called him "Great King." When he wakes, only endless darkness lies before him. He begins to wonder whether those memories ever truly existed. Perhaps he was never the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, but merely a stubborn stone destined to rot beneath this mountain.
Until one day, he hears footsteps. They are neither the iron boots of heavenly soldiers nor the hooves of beasts, but the footsteps of a mortal. Light and steady, they approach him one step at a time.
