Independent and self-governing, yet a melting pot of all kinds, Xindu was one such city.

The world was changing at a dizzying pace: AI, brain-computer interfaces, cybernetic bodies, genetic modification...

Surrounded by technology, neon lights, and holographic ads, Xindu happened to be right at the forefront of the times.

One day, Xindu resident Li Wei was shocked to discover that he had become what people called an “illegal AI.” With other inhuman, illegal AIs as cautionary examples, everyone was now watching him like a hawk.
