Blue Star is invaded by alien species, shattering the old order. The world is divided into defensive zones according to land, sea, and air, forming twelve war zones in total. Space forms a zone of its own, collectively known as the Air War Zone. The seas are divided into four war zones by the four oceans, while the land is divided into seven war zones according to the seven continents.
The most powerful person in each war zone, who is also its leader, is called a Commander. The twelve Commanders make up the Alliance Government. For ease of administration, the Alliance Government establishes an Elder Council, which also serves as a check on its power. The Alliance Assembly implements the Elder Council's decisions, and likewise has the authority to supervise the Council.
Each war zone is divided into residential and combat zones. The residential zone is split into inner and outer cities, while the combat zone consists of mobile battle lines and frontline fortresses. Between these lies the battlefield wasteland where people fight the alien species. It is now known as the Wasteland.
Ninety years later, technology has advanced rapidly, with artificial intelligence and genetic engineering making remarkable progress. AI devices are known as Smartbrain devices, and genetic enhancement serums have become commonplace.
The Wasteland is littered with alien warships, alien monsters, and Blue Star creatures infected and corrupted by them. Lin Yao has lived there since childhood as a scavenger. His ultimate dream is to enter the outer city and live a comfortable, peaceful life. But at sixteen, he is seized and taken to a strange laboratory, setting him on an absurd path of struggle against other people, the earth, and the heavens.
