In the fictional Eastern continent of the Nine Abyss Realm, a phenomenon known as the “Weird Mist” corrodes the world. Humans resist its contamination by cultivating spirit patterns. The world has two layers: the surface, ruled by mortal dynasties, and the hidden realm, where the ruins of eldritch Old Gods conceal forbidden knowledge.
Ji Wuya is the young heir of a fallen cultivation clan. A fragment of the Old God “Deep Eye” is sealed in his bloodline. After awakening, he can see the monsters lurking in the Weird Mist, but every use of his power accelerates his own transformation.
His clan is wiped out for guarding the “Uncanny Gate.” Forced to work with the hidden-world organization known as the Tarot Society, Ji Wuya discovers that the massacre was part of a joint conspiracy between forces from both layers of the world.
