In his panic, he hides in a community clinic, where nurse Ye Xiaomeng catches him red-handed. To stay and receive treatment, Lu Xiaoye is forced to sign an "unfair agreement" and work as a manual laborer. Who could have guessed that this stroke of bad luck would also bring out a string of bizarre abilities? He can recharge by touching power lines, replenish his zombie poison by eating spicy snacks, and sneeze out preservatives. It's ridiculous!
Even better, he meets Zhang Tiezhu, a chuuni Taoist who sticks LED lights onto his peachwood sword and offers monster-catching services for 9.9 yuan with free shipping, and Su Mali, a fujoshi mortuary makeup artist who is determined to Photoshop zombies into idols. This motley crew sets off on one hilarious adventure after another.
They discover that zombie virus has been injected into food deliveries all over the city, and the mastermind is a mysterious spy. Lu Xiaoye fights monsters and levels up along the way, even awakening his true Zombie King form. His hair turns into a spiky, punk-style purple, his fingernails are ready for a manicure, and his combat power goes through the roof. But who could have guessed that the ultimate boss would be Wangcai, the husky raised by Ye Xiaomeng? It swallows the virus core, mutating pets all over the city and plunging it into chaos!
In this absurd crisis, Lu Xiaoye and his companions deal with everything using one bizarre trick after another: they drive a mutant fishmonger away with canned herring and use shared bicycles to set up a magical Bagua formation.
