During the war between the Wu and Yao, he is the Martial Emperor's senior fellow disciple, helping humanity rise.
During the Investiture of the Gods, he is Daji's senior fellow disciple, aiding Shang against Zhou and suffering the loss of the Human Emperor.
Then comes the calamity of Journey to the West.
One day, the blue-robed Daoist gazes at the monkey before him and says with a smile, "Little Junior Brother, it's been more than five hundred years since we parted at Fangcun Mountain. Have you been well?"
