During the Warring States period, the various kingdoms were locked in constant conflict. The protagonist, Xiao Yi, was the crown prince of Lingxiao, a small kingdom that concealed a world-shaking secret: the means to cultivate immortality. When the powerful neighboring kingdom of Canglan learned of this secret, it brazenly launched a war to seize the cultivation methods. Lingxiao was unable to resist and was ultimately destroyed.
