Toward the Light [Leaning on the Years]

[Two strong leads / rekindled love / reunion after years apart / happy ending]

[Bright, resilient, headstrong rose × insecure, scheming pride of heaven]

Both leads speak their minds, so you can read with confidence.

Z City No. 6 High School had two outstanding graduates:

One was gentle and timid, the other carefree and at ease.

She was passionate and proactive, but he kept backing away. She chose to stop bothering him, yet worked hard so she could stand by his side.

She drew closer to the light, step by step, but always felt that it was getting farther away.

He had no choice but to go to the capital, while she gave up on him and chose her dream.

“She worked hard to get into Shen University for herself, always.”

Their parting was beyond their control.

My dear boy, please always have the courage to be yourself.

Before leaving the country, he secretly went to Shencheng to see her one last time.

“I want you to be happy, even if the person by your side isn’t me.”

Years after they parted, they reunited in high school.

“Ji Qingze, your hair’s gotten long.” “You’ve lost weight.”

“Song Niannian, can I pursue you?”

At a bar, a friend teased him: “I heard you had a crush on a girl in middle school named Meng Sidi. I also heard Song Niannian looks a lot like her. Don’t tell me…”

The man swirled his glass, downed the whiskey in one go, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he curled his lip.

“Song Niannian is Song Niannian. She doesn’t look like anyone, and no one could ever take her place.”
