Posterity Will Judge This Sword

“When this sword falls, those who come after me can judge right and wrong. My conscience is clear.”

Several years ago, Xuanxiao Sect had a senior disciple with the bearing of an immortal. Born arrogant, he claimed that with one man and one sword, he was invincible among those of his level. On a snowy night, he drank himself senseless and slew demons, laughing with abandon.

Later, the senior disciple met with disaster, and no one ever saw him again. The world would not stop for one person. The only thing anyone could be sure of was that the immortal had entered the mortal world and become human.

The five realms of humans, demons, monsters, ghosts, and immortals plunged into war over a damaged ancient scroll. Monsters and demons ran rampant, and all manner of evil spirits wreaked havoc among mortals. When a drop of blood spattered Sun Xiuran's face, he suddenly found himself missing the all-powerful person he used to be.

On another snowy night, someone took up a sword and, before the eyes of the entire cultivation world, split apart with a single strike the scroll that had caused all this calamity.

That night, the blade in his hand gleamed with a terrifying chill. He had come from the mortal world, and transformed from a human into an immortal.
