Start with the next breath of reading the work. When you are anxious, try the "centered breathing method" - inhale like the rising sun, exhale like the setting moon, and feel the calm at the intersection of the breaths; when you face a choice, think about "in the middle" - is the time right? Is the location right? Is it to the right extent? When you are in conflict with others, try to "center" - jump out of "either/or" and find a third way; when you lose yourself, ask "center" - where is my position at the moment? What are the responsibilities? Where are the boundaries? These are not mystical rituals, but the art of living. Just like the road roller in this book, it grinds away the husk of grains while rolling, leaving behind the essence of the rice grains. Our lives also need this kind of "crushing" - crushing away excessive desires, leaving real needs; crushing impetuous anxiety, leaving behind a clear heart.
