The Battle of Guandu

A single transfer order moves Ou Pinghai from his post as general manager of the Yanjiang Commercial Group to become director of the Yanjiang Development Zone Administrative Committee. From then on, a series of battles over power and profit unfolds: blatant political pressure, the seductive lure of beauty, and huge cash bribes; superiors who speak obscurely and evasively, colleagues who threaten and tempt, and subordinates who pay lip service while doing as they please... All of this tests Ou Pinghai as he takes up his new post. Drawing on his wealth of life experience and business acumen, Ou Pinghai faces challenges to his career advancement, personal interests, and physical safety amid a struggle rife with open and hidden attacks. The conflicts of interest draw in provincial and municipal officials, business tycoons, real estate magnates, and others.
