The Snowy Day You Broke Your Promise

What was he thinking in the final moments of her life? The bell rang again and again, just as she thought of him over and over. They met in winter, and their story ended in winter. 【Passionate boy with a sharp tongue × insecure girl】 She was drowning in the sorrow of youth when she unexpectedly met Ji You. She broke her promise when she loved him most, and in the end, punished him by vanishing without a trace. He wondered whether he could have kept up with her if he hadn’t stood her up that snowy day. The good news was that she had grown into the adult she wanted to be. The bad news was that she disappeared just a year later, like a breeze he could never catch. But she had lied to Ji You. She vanished before her birthday, before she had even turned nineteen. The girl’s youth was steeped in insecurity. She lived in the grip of it, and died in its grip too. She watched the fish on her wrist sink forever into the freezing lake. The water flooded her mouth and nose, but fish couldn’t drown. She, however, would never wake again. Her brother once said that when the flowers bloomed and the fog lifted, he would come take her home. Was my vision playing tricks on me? How could fake flowers sprout new branches? Beneath the moonlight, he smiled, radiant and flawless. She wasn’t even nineteen yet. She was so close. Ji You’s voice trembled as he said, “Don’t let me meet you again.” As she neared death, she thought she saw his smile, as blank and white as a sheet of paper. That night, she fell asleep happily, clutching her little fish pendant tightly. She held it just as tightly when she jumped into the river and died. In the end, she jumped into the river with the little fish she loved most. The girl who loved fish ended up sinking beneath the sea, just like one. The fake flowers grew wildly, sprouting branches and trunks.
