At an archaeological site in 2023, researchers examine a crystal-like substance seeping from a crack in a bronze vessel dating to the reign of King Zhao of the Western Zhou (977 BCE), in the Nine Provinces continent where the Zhou dynasty stood. Tests show that the substance contains antimatter. The star chart in Prince Zhao’s palm matches the latest map of the Milky Way’s dark matter distribution released by NASA. After a laboratory accident, Lin Xia gains the ability to see in the dark. Western Zhou astrological records indicate that a rare alignment of nine stars occurred on the eve of King Zhao’s southern campaign.
