My Girlfriend Announced Her New Boyfriend on Her Birthday

I’d been secretly dating the girl next door for a year. Then she suddenly announced on social media that she’d reveal her relationship on her birthday. I dressed up and showed up, waiting for her to announce us in front of her family. Instead, I watched her shyly take a man’s hand. “Let me introduce you all. This is my boyfriend.” I quietly put away the ring in my hand and led the applause. “You and my new brother-in-law make a great couple.” She looked embarrassed. “Jingshen, didn’t you say you were going to France on a business trip?” I smiled. “Oh, my family asked me to come back for a blind date, and I said yes.”
