In 1987, Lin Guixiang transmigrates into the body of a divorced woman kicked out by her in-laws. Her mother-in-law, Sun Xiuying, thinks she is useless because she only gave birth to girls and pressures her son to divorce her. Her four daughters are seven, five, four, and three, and she has just thirty cents to her name. She starts out selling leg warmers from a street stall, gets a business license, and steadily expands her business. All four girls grow up to make something of themselves: the eldest runs the business, the second is a devoted daughter, the third pursues scholarship, and the youngest eventually becomes an official. Those who once said she couldn't raise her girls eventually fell silent.
