Seven Days in the Sea of Return

Do you believe that the seventh day after death is when the real beginning comes? Jiang Lin, a folklorist, receives his father's keepsake: a bronze compass engraved with a blood moon over Dunhuang. But while filming it, he is sucked into “Guixu.” There is no heaven or hell here, only cold, unforgiving rules: a seven-day time loop, where death is not the end but the beginning of being turned into data. Seven trials of human nature: the Tower of Pride, the Sea of Envy, the Abyss of Wrath... Those who clear them are reborn; those who fail become NPCs. One hidden rule: every player is a lab rat in a quantum experiment run by the “Kunlun Research Institute.”

When Jiang Lin uncovers his teammates' secrets, he learns that a hacker girl who can tamper with System data is wanted, a surgeon's scalpel has slit the throats of living people, and he himself is “Uncontrolled Sample No. 0793” from the experiment... We think we're solving the mystery, but the mystery is us.
