The Great Qing's Concubine: Wei Yanwan

A female empowerment fantasy that overturns traditional palace-intrigue storytelling. It tells the tale of a biochemistry PhD who transmigrates into the body of a palace maid in the Cold Palace and uses modern scientific thinking and management systems to shatter the shackles of feudalism. When Wei Yanwan discovers that her "golden finger" isn't an emperor's favor but Game Theory and labor law, she leads thirty-six palace maids in a revolution within the Forbidden City. She establishes a food traceability system in the imperial kitchens, using the unborn children of pregnant consorts to force food safety standards into place. She cultivates penicillin in pickle jars, turning the Imperial Medical Bureau's arsenic prescriptions into a laughingstock. She transforms the Cold Palace into a women's mutual aid bank, turning bloodstained contracts of indenture into collective legal complaints. From dissecting palace maids' bodies to expose medical corruption, to linking the six palaces with a Morse code intelligence network; from using an audience with the emperor to build a Nash equilibrium model, to hiding the seeds of equality in logistics reforms, this is a dimensional strike that uses science to strip imperial power of its mystique, as well as an epic of women's awakening in the feudal inner palace. When bloodstained underpants become evidence in labor arbitration, when menstrual pads become penicillin filters, and when retired palace maids take the helm of the financial system, Wei Yanwan declares through her actions: true palace intrigue isn't about climbing to the top over the corpses of your sisters. It's about rebuilding the rules so every woman can stand tall.
