In the Name of the People: A Gripping Epic of Justice and Corruption in Government

In the prosperous yet turbulent province of Handong, the city of Jingzhou becomes the stage for an anti-corruption campaign. A mysterious letter of accusation exposes Vice Mayor Ding Yizhen's corrupt dealings. Hou Liangping, head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, is sent in at a critical moment and leads his team onto a thorny path.

Obstacles arise at every turn from the very beginning. Powerful figures lay a trap to help Ding Yizhen flee overseas, while pressure creates divisions within the Anti-Corruption Bureau. But Hou Liangping stays true to his original purpose. As he contends with all sides, he methodically unravels a shocking web of secrets: from the under-the-table dealings surrounding the Guangming Peak project to the network of money-for-power exchanges behind Shanshui Group. The investigation also exposes numerous officials' shameless schemes to take a cut, including those of his former close friend, Qi Tongwei.

Teacher and student turn against each other, and a life-and-death struggle unfolds. Justice and evil wage a desperate battle on the edge of a precipice. Qi Tongwei's remorse and Hou Liangping's anguish lay bare the human condition amid the vortex of power. At last, as corrupt officials are brought to justice one by one, Jingzhou's political scene is revitalized. Through their actions, Hou Liangping and his fellow investigators demonstrate their loyalty to the people and sound a triumphant anthem of justice. This novel lays bare the realities of officialdom and the struggles of human nature, drawing readers into the heart-pounding battles on the front lines of the anti-corruption campaign and showing that justice is never absent.
