Five years ago, when Fu Chen asked to marry Shen Yue, the clan leader planted a paired Gu to test his sincerity.
If he ever changed his heart, the offspring Gu would activate, and a thousand worms would devour his heart, leaving him to die a horrible death.
Back then, he had promised through tear-red eyes that he would never let her down in this lifetime.
But in their fifth year of marriage, Shen Yue saw the young assistant sitting on Fu Chen's lap, flirting with him, right outside his office.
"That love Gu is just something they made up to scare you. We've slept together so many times, and nothing's happened to you."
Standing outside the door, Shen Yue felt a faint ache in her chest.
Of course nothing would happen to him. Back then, she had replaced the love Gu with a Gu that erased affection.
If either of them fell out of love, the other would permanently forget everything about them.
