The Eldest Daughter of a Farming Family Gets Rich

In the early 1960s, Xu Fang was born in a poor, backward mountain village. As a child, she helped raise her younger sisters and brother. In those days, food and clothing were scarce, but her parents would rather go without themselves than fail to give their children the best life they could. Xu Fang lived up to their hopes. As the eldest daughter, she led her sisters and their one precious younger brother onto the road to prosperity in the 1980s. At just the right time, she met the person fate had chosen for her: You promised me a lifetime of love, with me as its only object; I promised you a lifetime with eyes for no one but you.
