Journey to the West: Tang Sanzang Doesn't Want to Fetch the Scriptures

During the Zhenguan era of the Tang dynasty, the gears of fate began to turn for twelve-year-old Jiang Liuer. By chance, he discovered that he had joined a mysterious “Myriad Worlds Journey to the West chat group.” Its members were all sorts of demons and monsters from different times and places, each with their own quirks.

As soon as he joined, Jiang Liuer saw that the group was buzzing with activity. [Yellow-Brow Patriarch] bragged, “Ha! Golden Cicada, this time I'm sure to win.” [Musclebound Tang Sanzang] said something even more shocking: “The journey west was an invincible path to begin with. More bones mean more paths. Once I capture the White Bone Spirit, I'll have her help me cultivate, tempering my flesh and marrow so I can prove the Great Dao of Buddhist Torment.” [Great Sage Equal to Heaven Sun Wukong] voiced his own fierce ambition: “What's the use of giving me life if I can't laugh? What's the use of killing me if it can't diminish my arrogance?” Even the [Altar Cleanser Envoy] sighed, “Goodness, the younger generation in the twenty-first century really knows how to have fun!”
