Hong Kong Films: I Can Hear People's Thoughts, So Lei Luo Wants Me to Become Governor of Hong Kong

He transmigrates into a Hong Kong film universe.

Su Chen unexpectedly becomes the biological cousin of Zhu Youzai, Lei Luo’s trusted aide.

He also gets a Lay-Flat Fish System, which rewards him whenever he avoids working hard.

But just then, the British establish the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong.

Lei Luo is terrified. He goes to his trusted aide Zhu Youzai’s home to discuss fleeing, only to discover that he can hear Su Chen’s thoughts!

[What’s there to panic about? If you run away, how am I supposed to lie flat by relying on you?]

[The ICAC? What are you afraid of? Just launder all that dirty money until it’s clean.]

[Hmm… Protection rackets don’t have much of a future. Lei Luo, you need to expand in every direction: finance, real estate, energy, even arms manufacturing. That way, I can lean on a big tree and enjoy the shade.]

…

Guided by Su Chen’s thoughts, Lei Luo’s money empire grows ever larger.

Three years later, Hong Kong holds an election.

Lei Luo: “Su Chen, I’m getting old. For this governor’s election, I’ve already pulled the strings and made the arrangements so you can win.”

Su Chen: “??? Wait, I really just wanted to lie flat. How did I end up becoming governor?”
