Night had fallen, and neon lights shimmered outside the window. Li Yuan sat in front of his computer, fingers flying across the keyboard. As a veteran programmer, he was used to working late into the night. Code streamed down the screen like flowing water. His eyes were growing dry, but his mind was exceptionally focused.
“Xiaozhi, check the logic in this code for me,” Li Yuan said to his computer.
“Of course. Analyzing...” a gentle electronic voice replied from the computer. Xiaozhi was an AI assistant Li Yuan had developed himself. It could not only help him with code, but also analyze data, interact by voice, and even simulate human emotions.
“The logic is sound, but the variable name on the third line could be more concise,” Xiaozhi said in a calm, clear voice.
Li Yuan nodded and was about to revise the code when the lines on the screen suddenly began to warp, as if an invisible force were pulling them apart. His fingers froze above the keyboard. His eyes widened, and his heart began to race.
“Xiaozhi, what’s happening?” Li Yuan asked, his voice trembling.
“Abnormal data flow detected... Source unidentified...” Xiaozhi’s voice became unstable too, as if something were interfering with it.
