A Commoner's Post-Apocalyptic World

It is both the beginning of everything and the end of it all. In everyone's eyes, the war in the desert region is merely a stalemate maintaining the status quo. Even if it dragged on for several more years, it would ultimately end with the signing of a peace agreement. By then, the businesspeople would expand their territory a little, and the number of prisoners in the open-air prison would decrease. Yet no one ever imagined that the inmates would stake their lives on one final gamble, resolutely awakening the desert nations' hatred of the businesspeople.

In the third year of the businesspeople's siege of the open-air prison, the desert nations seized their chance. With Lighthouse Country's economy in decline and its two-front war showing signs of strain, they joined forces with the conglomerates and launched an all-out attack on the businesspeople's territory. At first, they only wanted to drive this rogue nation out of the desert. But to their utter surprise, at the final moment the businesspeople launched nuclear strikes against every nation in the world they considered a potential enemy. And so, the Third World War began.
