[Two male leads + both pure-hearted + childhood friends]
At five years old, Shen Wantang becomes the only surviving heir of the Marquis of Zhenbei's household. The emperor pities him for being so young and alone, and brings him to the palace to grow up alongside the princes.
At fifteen, he takes a Snow Silkworm Gu meant for Song Xingye and is sent to the Medicine King Valley by Song Xingye to save his life.
Though Shen Wantang survives, the Snow Silkworm Gu has poisoned him to the bone, weakened his constitution, and begun eating away at his internal organs.
From then on, Shen Wantang is terribly sensitive to the cold. Even in the sweltering heat of summer, he has to wrap himself in thick padded clothes, and he must take medicine for the rest of his life to suppress the cold poison in his body.
Meanwhile, the Di Rong invade again. Though Song Xingye is deeply reluctant and has no choice but to leave, he must go to the battlefield.
Before he departs, he clasps Shen Wantang's hand tightly and says softly, his gaze gentle but resolute, “When you can leave the Medicine King Valley, I'll come for you. I promise.”
From then on, every inch of the Medicine King Valley bears the traces of Shen Wantang's longing.
Every day, he rises early and waits at the entrance to the valley, watching the distant road from first light until sunset.
But Song Xingye broke his promise...
It's good to watch, but the only drawback is that the ending is a bit rushed. I could write some extras, such as Song Xingye's happy life with Shen Wantang after he abdicated the throne, or their wedding, but overall, it's still pretty good to watch 😳
Nice! Author, please write a side story after they got married. I haven't seen enough!
I like Shen Wantang very much. How is his health still?
The joys and sorrows of life... But... A big dream
It ended so suddenly, it was quite nice.
As the name of the book suggests, the Marquis is indeed difficult to coax, but the Prince really dotes on him. When they were together at first, I really didn't see that he was taking advantage of the prince. Later, when he said he wanted to separate, he really left.
Very beautiful, very beautiful
It's beautiful, the plot is exciting, and the writing is good.
A rare good work worthy of 5 stars
