As they spent time together, Wen Lan went from being fed a mute pill for talking too much to becoming a clingy “big sister” parrot who sweet-talked Murong Nian into giving her things. Their feelings for each other quietly grew. After being cured, Wen Lan left to pursue her dream, and three years later became one of the martial world's top ten experts.
When she returned to the Murong family, Wen Lan had intended to find medicine to nourish Murong Nian, but learned that the family patriarch had died and Murong Nian had been overthrown and targeted for assassination by her younger brother. Wen Lan rescued Murong Nian, stormed the enemy's lair, and killed the culprit. Back at Shouxiandu, Murong Nian proposed to Wen Lan when she returned. The conflicts of the martial world had not yet ended, but their wedding day had arrived.
Well enough. There is just no plot point between the heroines. Relatively bland.
