The Myriad Worlds are in truth a cage where the "Heavenly Dao" raises all living beings. When cultivators ascend, they become nourishment for the Heavenly Dao. The protagonist, Chu Xinghe, awakens memories of his past life and discovers that he is the reincarnation of a remnant soul of the creator, who sacrificed himself to the Dao in an ancient era. As the seals on the nine forbidden lands shatter, the Myriad Worlds face the "Era Cleansing" that comes once every hundred thousand years. This time, he will lead the ancient civilization, long since erased, in taking revenge on the Heavenly Dao.
