“Girl, you’ve gotten yourself into big trouble!”
After quitting her job as a workaholic at a five-star hotel, Xu Hongdou heads straight to a small village in Yunnan to lie flat. But as soon as she arrives, she crashes into the lab of Lin Shen, a fungi researcher.
With his bedhead and rapid-fire Chongqing accent, this scientist is using a spectrophotometer to analyze the molecular structure of pickled bamboo shoots.
From then on, her retirement plans go completely off course:
By day, she helps villagers livestream and sell mushroom oil; by night, Lin Shen makes her count ants carrying fungal threads.
She organizes guesthouse bookings in Excel while helping investigate such mystical theories as “seeing-hand mushrooms cure anxiety” and “termite mushrooms save you from insomnia.”
She even has to charge into a mushroom shed with a fire extinguisher during a rainstorm, performing a muddy version of “Mushroom Disco” with this “mad scientist”...
When a perfectionist hotel manager meets a sharp-tongued, no-nonsense research scientist,
Yunnan’s breezes carry more than the fragrance of mushrooms. Lin Shen’s drone spells out a confession: “You’re the only variable in my paper that can feel.”

“Hongdou’s survival time: ∞”, Final chapter of "Lin Shen’s Mushroom Observation Log".
This book is quite weird. I thought it was a fantasy novel in the first few chapters. Moreover, the heroine and the hero immediately entered the ambiguous stage as soon as they met. It was a bit too sudden. Nana, Damai's character design has been changed, and there is no sense of substitution. The fanfic has been changed a lot, so I don't know how to evaluate it. Maybe friends who know more about biology will like it more.
Don't know what to write
