This book is a complete collection of 207 pictures of monsters in Toriyama Sekiyan's life-long works, "A Hundred Ghosts at Night", "A Hundred Ghosts in the Present and Past", "A Hundred Ghosts in the Past and Collected Relics", and "A Hundred Utensils in vain". In the master's works, monsters are full of fun and come in different shapes, interpreting ghost stories told in all over Japan, just like a Japanese "Book of Mountains and Seas". Pictures in the book have been recolored.
By translating pictures and annotations, researching materials, and collecting ghost stories from ancient books, this current illustrated book of "Hundred Demons at Night" is compiled. By simply reading, you can appreciate the essence of Japanese monster culture. To this day, the yokai images created by Toriyama Sekien are still active in different fields such as literature, animation, and games, and have spawned classic comic works such as "Mr. Hell", "Hyakuki Yakōsho", and "Kiden no Rōtetsu".
