Lu Zhao, a 27-year-old second-hand bookstore owner, is tortured by faceless dreams every night. In order to pursue the truth behind his shadow's missing head, he was forced to cooperate with the female forensic doctor Jiang Li who was monitoring him to solve a series of strange cases. However, he gradually discovered that the black, white and red colors at each murder scene were replicating the alchemy diagram of the orphanage fire twenty years ago; and his forgotten past was intertwined with the "Black Tower Society", an ancient organization that controls the rules of yin and yang, forming a web that swallows reality. As the blood moon cycle approaches, Lu Zhao must choose to exchange his remaining memories for the power to prevent the collapse of the world, or become a sacrifice in the next reincarnation.
