Technology, Created with Care

Ran Qingling thought life was as bland as a glass of water. In her junior year of college, she couldn’t get her experiments to work and couldn’t see what the future held. She went through the motions every day. Nothing was wrong, but nothing was right, either.

Then, on the night she watched a meteor shower, she made a casual wish.

The next morning, she woke up with a System in her head. A ten-pull gave her nine bottles of stamina potion and one super AI. She named the AI Jarvis, and from then on, everything changed.

Electricity-generating symbiotes, modular phones, life-support systems, atomic disassemblers, solid-state batteries, antigravity aircraft.

Each technology was more astonishing than the last, yet every one of them made people’s lives better.

State-owned enterprises pursued her for contracts, hospitals scrambled to work with her, and the space agency came to her door in person. She turned entire industries upside down. The major players panicked, and investors went wild.

Some called her a genius. Some called her crazy. Others said the world would destroy her sooner or later.

Ran Qingling couldn’t be bothered to explain. She was just doing one thing: turning technologies that lay idle in laboratories into things ordinary people could afford. Making phones that lasted ten years without needing replacement, bringing clean water to the poor, and giving terminally ill patients one more chance to live.

Later, someone asked her, “What exactly are you trying to do?”

She thought for a moment, then said, “Make life better for the people and help humanity reach the stars.”

At the same time, she silently added to herself: A great leader once said that we were the sun at eight or nine in the morning, the hope of the future. Now that she had this ability, she couldn’t let that old man down.
