No King, No Emperor, Yet I Rule the World

For three thousand years, the Tianyuan Continent had been ruled jointly by the Immortal Dynasty and the sacred lands. It was iron law that common-born youths kneel to receive imperial decrees, and custom that sect disciples give the royal family a half-bow. That all changed when a boy carrying a woodcutter's blade stormed the capital and kicked over the Nine-Dragon Cauldron.

"I hear your emperor calls himself the Son of Heaven?" Lin Kaiyuan split open the Imperial Ancestral Temple with one slash. "What a coincidence. My blade is made to cut down the laws of heaven!"

Burdened with the Defiant Tribulation Tyrant Physique, he drank poison wine to skyrocket his cultivation and swallowed tribulation lightning like candy. The royal guards surrounded him? He drained the dragon energy from the imperial tombs with a backhanded strike. The sacred land elders tried to suppress him? He crushed their protective formation with one stomp. When the nine great Immortal Dynasties jointly issued the Decree to Exterminate Mortals, Lin Kaiyuan was already seated atop the Wordless Heavenly Stele, his blade pointed at the sky.

"From this day onward:

Emperors will kneel before me and bow three times,

sects will seal their gates when I approach,

and so-called prodigies will be fit to compete for second place beneath my blade!"
