The Clouds Drift Away with the Wind

A new work. A young woman is the only survivor after the emperor exterminates her entire clan. At fifteen, apart from her beauty, she has no exceptional intelligence or special skills. She is an ordinary, beautiful young woman whose fate brings her together with a young general and his father, a great general; the emperor’s most beloved grandson; and her childhood companion, Ma Dan, a stable hand who has stayed by her through countless hardships. All four lose their hearts to her, and all four lose their lives for her. Their fates remain entangled with hers throughout her life, and in the end, they all die for her. When she rises to the highest position in the palace, Empress Dowager, she looks back on her life in her memoirs. The country in this story is fictional; this is not a true historical tale.

All her life, she struggles against this false and heartless world.

Yet again and again, her beauty brings her heartbreak and despair so deep they cut to the bone, until her heart finally dies. With beauty that captivates the world, she uses it as her sole weapon for revenge. At last, she fulfills her vow: You wiped out my entire clan, so I will destroy your country and take your place...
