Heaven's Punishment Through Nine Tribulations

The Ninefold Heavens are no paradise, but a cage imprisoning all living things.

On the day Lin Ye, a disciple of the Qingyun Sect, awakened, all three thousand ancient swords in the Sword Mound snapped. A broken sword wreathed in primordial chaos burst from the earth. The fading image of a woman within it sighed: “Do you see the blood-red eye behind the sky screen? That's the Taotie that devoured the Sword God ten thousand years ago.”

From the Lower Three Heavens to the Upper Ninefold Heavens, every realm suppresses a fragment of a god or demon's remains. When Lin Ye shattered the seal of the Seventh Heaven, he finally saw the truth: so-called ascension meant stepping over the bones of those who came before, only to become a prisoner in an even higher cage.

“If Heaven would cage me...” The young man swung his sword and cut down the stairway to the heavens. Behind him, countless rays of sword light became a river of stars flowing against the current. “Then I'll turn all Ninefold Heavens into a Sword Mound!”
