Arknights: The Illusory Heaven

(A heads-up: the plot structure is modeled on the game's story design. Every volume except the prologue can be read as a Sidestory.)

Everyone living on Terra knows there is a paradise on earth called Laterano. Its endless supply of sweets and peaceful, prosperous atmosphere draw the eyes of countless pilgrims. This has given rise to a hellish joke on Terra: being born in Kazdel means starting life in hell, while being born in Laterano means coming into the world with a silver spoon in your mouth.

Almost everyone thinks so, but Cen Wen refuses to agree. “That's bullshit!!!”

Can a pristine white church really conceal a corrupt heart? When plots and schemes are set in motion on the board of the holy city, how will events unfold?

“Ow, that hurts... Waaaah!” The Doctor was smacked hard on the head.

“Doctor, you should focus on objectively describing the operation. I don't want you writing this report in that affected, mysterious tone.” The old cat beside him looked like his face was about to turn into a straight black line.
