The King of Ghosts and I Are Twins

Ever since Pangu shattered the primordial chaos and opened up the heavens and earth, the two have been separated. The transformation of heaven and earth then gave birth to the Five Realms, allowing all things to flourish. Yuan is the Realm of Pure Truth, the primordial beginning of the cosmos. Qian is the Realm of Enlightenment, where immortals are shattered and gods are lost. Kun is the Cultivation World, home to the countless living. Gen is the Underworld, realm of asuras and ghosts. Meng is the Netherworld of Grievances, where lonely, ill-fated souls cry out.

When chaos first parted, birds and beasts, plants and trees, all vied to be the first to flourish. The phoenix reigns over the birds, and the qilin is sovereign among beasts. The bodhi tree nurtured a child who became a saint.

The Five Realms were separated, with no way between them. Neither humans nor gods could travel from one to another, no matter what vessels they used.

After another cycle of eighty-one years, right here and now, a beam of red light tore through space, piercing the Qian, Kun, and Gen Realms. At last, the mysterious red light fell back into the Kun Realm, and the realms became connected. A vast conspiracy slowly began to come to light...

(This book depicts only the Kun and Gen Realms.)
