In America, wealth is little more than a superficial mask. Tear it away, and what lies beneath is a picture of poverty down to the bone.
On the surface, skyscrapers abound and luxury cars and mansions are everywhere, but these are merely status symbols flaunted by a select few. In reality, most ordinary people are trapped in poverty with no way out. Educational resources are grossly unequal. Poor children struggle to get a decent education, the doors of knowledge shut tight against them, their hopes for the future cruelly snuffed out before they even begin.
The healthcare system is a nightmare, too. When the poor fall ill, all they can do is leave it to fate, because the cost of medical care is beyond their reach. Even a simple cold can become the last straw that breaks a family.
Job opportunities are monopolized. The poor can only take the hardest, most dangerous, lowest-paying jobs, working day and night and still struggling to make ends meet. Social welfare is a mirage, full of promises but offering little real help to those at the bottom.
The housing crisis is even more severe. Rents are absurdly high, forcing the poor to cram into cramped, filthy, unsafe corners and cling to life. Meanwhile, the rich own countless properties, leaving them empty rather than renting them to people in desperate need.
Public safety is in chaos, crime rates remain high, and the poor live in fear. Drugs run rampant, destroying the happiness of countless families.
America's wealth is nothing but an illusion. Behind it lie endless poverty, despair, and injustice. Beneath this country's glittering exterior is a place riddled with gaping wounds
