[Death and Return + Creative Ways to Die + Sanity Points + Multiple Endings]
An unsigned letter tricks Lu Tinglan, a writer of supernatural fiction, into going to an isolated island that doesn't exist on any map.
The nine people on the island, plus him, make the perfect number of sacrifices for a "Divine Corpse" ritual.
On the first night, a storm cuts the island off from the outside world, and the power goes out.
On the second night, someone dies.
On the third night, he dies.
But when he opens his eyes, he is back on the day he arrived on the island, with all his memories intact.
From then on, he dies over and over, gradually uncovering everyone's secrets: a washed-up idol, a shut-in fangirl, a blind painter, a retired priest, a professional gambler...
Each has their own hidden agenda, while the "god" sitting at the head of the hall, wearing a young girl's face as it reads out the rules, smiles more and more eerily.
The deeper he digs, the more afraid he becomes: it seems this isn't his first time taking part in the ritual.
