Among the lotus ponds of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the South China Sea, the Green Lotus is originally the most pious among the thousands of lotuses. It listens to the Dharma every day, is contaminated by the Buddha's light, and gradually becomes spiritual.
Unexpectedly, the peace was broken by the Carp Spirit Inspiration King. It covets the flowers of the green lotus and plucks them to make a nine-petal copper hammer. The lower realm brings harm to the world and prevents the Tang monk and his disciples from obtaining scriptures. After Sun Wukong noticed it, he reported it to the Bodhisattva. When the Inspiration King was captured, the other flowers in the lotus pond spread their anger towards Qinglian, treating it as an alien. The green lotus without flowers has lost all its spiritual power and returned to its ordinary appearance. It can no longer stay in this sacred lotus pond.
Qinglian originally wanted to destroy her spiritual power and reenter the mortal world. Fortunately, the Bodhisattva had mercy and prevented it from committing suicide, and allowed it to descend to earth and journey to the West, to help the tenth generation of sutra collectors to obtain the true sutras, promote Buddhism, and then achieve great fortune.
